A 10-Minute Travel Makeup Routine: Effortless Beauty on the Go

Right before catching a flight for spring break in Kansas City, I squeezed in a quick filming session to share something I’ve been asked about often: a streamlined travel makeup routine. With less than 10 minutes to spare before heading out the door, I put my go-to products to the test. Now that I’m back home, I’m excited to walk you through the exact steps, the standout products, and why this pared-down approach works so beautifully for busy travel days.

Why Keep It Simple?

Travel days are never glamorous. Between packing, navigating the airport, and the general hustle of getting from point A to point B, the last thing most of us want is an elaborate routine. That said, I always feel more myself when I take just a few minutes to freshen up my complexion, add definition, and bring a little glow. The trick is focusing on multitasking products that deliver maximum impact in minimal time.

This 10-minute routine does just that—it’s polished but unfussy, radiant yet practical, and it keeps me feeling put-together without overpacking my makeup bag.

Step 1: Skin Prep with a Touch of Luxury

I always start with hydration to give skin a fresh canvas. A few drops of Omorovicza Queen Oil provide nourishment and that subtle glow that makes everything layered on top look better. It sinks in quickly, which is key when you’re rushing out the door.

Step 2: A Flawless Base

For foundation, I’ve been alternating between Le Metier de Beaute Peau Vierge—a hybrid product that delivers skincare and coverage in one—and the Chantecaille Future Skin Cushion Foundation in Wheat. Both offer lightweight coverage with a radiant finish, perfect for travel when you don’t want anything heavy.

A quick sweep of Sisley-Paris Bronzer warms up the complexion and keeps skin from looking flat, while SUQQU Pure Color Blush 139 or Hourglass Sublime Flush adds just the right pop of color. Both blushes are effortless to blend and instantly enliven the face.

Step 3: Definition & Glow

Brows are non-negotiable for me, even on quick days. A few strokes of Tom Ford Fiber Brow Gel in Taupe give subtle definition without overdoing it. On the eyes, the Chantecaille Luminescent Eyeshadow in Zebra delivers soft shimmer in seconds—no complicated blending required. I add a quick swipe of Girlactik Long Wear Gel Liner in Black at the lash line for subtle definition, and finish with a coat of Tower 28 Make Waves Mascara to open everything up.

For added radiance, I tap on a bit of Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Light Wand in Pillow Talk at the high points of the face. On some days, I swap it out with the Girlactik Jetsetter Glow on the Go, which is perfect for travel thanks to its compact size.

Step 4: Lips that Last

Lips are where I like to play with a little color. I start with Sisley Lip Liner in Chocolat for definition, then layer either Estée Lauder Frosted Apricot for a soft coral brightness or Estée Lauder Pink Parfait for a cooler pink vibe. Both shades are easy to wear and complement the bronzy, fresh look of this routine.

Step 5: Hair Touch-Up

Though technically not makeup, I can’t leave without mentioning the T3 Volumizing Hot Rollers. Just a few minutes with them while I’m doing my skincare and makeup brings life back to travel-weary hair, creating volume and bounce without fuss. Paired with a Lorencetti headband to keep everything in place while getting ready, it’s the easiest way to look polished with very little effort.

Why This Routine Works

The beauty of this look is its balance. Each product multitasks, blends seamlessly, and plays well together. It’s the kind of routine that feels refined but never overdone, the perfect middle ground between “barely there” and “fully glam.” Most importantly, it can be achieved in the time it takes to sip a coffee before dashing out the door.

And perhaps the best part? Everything fits into a compact makeup bag, making it just as travel-friendly as it is time-efficient.

What’s Next

Now that spring is in full swing, I’m excited to share even more discoveries with you—starting with a transformational haircare find that has completely changed my routine. I’ll also be rounding up my beauty favorites from the past month, along with highlighting some exciting new seasonal launches. In the meantime, I’m posting daily updates, swatches, and tutorials on Instagram, so be sure to check in there for fresh content.

Bottom Line: Travel days are hectic, but a little beauty ritual goes a long way in helping you feel refreshed and confident. This 10-minute routine proves that it doesn’t take much to look and feel your best—even if you’re rushing to catch a plane. I’d love to know which products caught your eye and what your own travel makeup essentials are.

Stay strong, seek wisdom, much love, and more soon.
